It is necessary to plant more trees and safeguard them so that ecological balance is restored and all living beings have a sustainable future”, said Prof BK Chaudhary, Jawaharlal Nehru University of New Delhi, while delivering the keynote address on Urban Health: Issues and Challenges, in the National Seminar organised by the University Eco Club of Cultural Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University on World Health Day.

The Department of English at Aligarh Muslim University organized Deeksharambh, a student induction programme for the newly admitted students of MA (English) and MA (English Language Teaching). The students were given an overview of university life, the historical significance of the university, its founder and the department. They were also introduced to the curricular and co-curricular activities, coursework and the university culture.

“Language is something that we have invented and it is one of the greatest inventions because it exists even with its flaws,” said Prof. B Hariharan, President-Elect and presently Vice President, Shastri Indo Canadian Institute, New Delhi.
