Aligarh: A team comprising three Intern Doctors including Arham Khan, Hazique Jameel, and Gesu Ahmad from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College grabbed the first prize at the International 'Innovate for Infectious Diseases' competition organized by the Faculty of Medicine, FK Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, and were awarded a cash prize of three million Indonesian Rupiah.

24 teams were selected for the final presentation held on 31st July 2021. JNMCH Team proposed a digital health model, termed 'Infectibot - Digital Revolution in Infectious Disease Management'; an application-based intervention that stood on five principle pillars to combat the infectious disease burden, targeting surveillance, immunization, information, and Communication Technology.

The competition was organized online due to the COVID pandemic and travel restrictions. Teams from all over the globe participated to present innovative ideas about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Infectious Diseases. The digital health model “Infectibot”, design sprint was much appreciated by the judges and the team had a fruitful discussion on the theme of Infectious Diseases.

Congratulating the winning JNMC students’ team, Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean, Faculty of Medicine) commended them for regularly representing JNMC at various national and international platforms.
