Organic Food Fair inaugurated at Shilpgram in Agra

Agra: The three-day 'Tarang 2024- Celebrating Collectivisation' fair, focused on organic food, started at the Shilpgram complex near the Taj Mahal, to showcase agricultural innovations, technologies, and best practices in the country. The fair, scheduled for June 19-21, is organized by NABARD in collaboration with SFAC and ONDC.

Measures taken by the state and central governments to enhance productivity and sustainability in the agriculture sector have begun to show results. Organisers said that the primary objective of 'Tarang Celebrating Collectivisation' was to showcase, market, and build brands for FPO products, increasing their sales nationwide with ONDC's support. They stressed the importance of farmers connecting directly with traders and consumers to reach markets more effectively, improve the smooth operation of FPOs, secure better prices for their produce, and ensure quality products for consumers.

Assistant General Manager (District Development), NABARD, Vishal Anand, urged Agra residents to visit the fair and make it a success. He advised FPOs to focus on product quality, branding, and packaging to meet customer requirements. Representatives from SFAC, ONDC, and MyStore App attended the event, providing participants with guidance on business expansion and ONDC onboarding.

The fair features 40 FPOs from Uttar Pradesh, promoted by NABARD and SFAC, showcasing a variety of agricultural and non-agricultural products, including rice, mustard oil, honey, turmeric, spices, pickles, jaggery products, ghee, pulses, millet-based items, and organic products. Attendees are encouraged to support rural farmers by shopping at the fair.

In addition to the product displays, the event includes live performances by RJs, singers, musicians, and artists every evening, organized by Big FM, the event's promoter partner.
