Awareness programme held to mark the National Space Day

Aligarh: The National Space Day celebrations continue to be held at the Aligarh Muslim University by different departments and schools.

In a recent happening, the team members of the Sir Syed AMU Nano-satellite Project, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, organized an awareness programme for the school children belonging to different schools from Aligarh, including the schools managed by AMU.

The programme was held to mark the historic launch and landing of India’s moon mission, Chanrayaan-3 Vikram Lander on the south region of the Moon on August 23, 2023.

The members of the AMU Robo Club, under the guidance of its Coordinator, Prof Ekram Khan from the Department of Electronics, interacted with the school children and made them aware of the various aspects of the Indian satellite system and the different Moon missions of India through the presentations on design and fabrication of satellite, which the Robo Club is planning to launch by the end of this year.

Prof Khan said that a quiz programme was also held for the students of different schools who participated in the event in a large number.

It may be noted that Prof M Salim Beg, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Prof Ekram Khan are respective Chairman and Conveners of the Committee formed by the AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Naima Khatoon to oversee various activities scheduled to be organized in the university over the next few weeks to mark the National Space Day.
