Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Prof Naima Khatoon released the Unani Medicine Faculty Journal, ‘Unani Medicus’, which reflects the in-depth discussion of innovative approaches used in Unani medicine and carries the high–quality original research papers and reviews, both modern and classical, which pave the way for exploring and synthesizing the theories and practices.

Prof MJ Warsi, President, the Linguistic Society of India, delivered a plenary talk at a conference on “Bhartiya Languages and India as one Linguistic Area” organized by the Central Institute of India Languages in Mysuru on May 28-29.

Prof Naima Khatoon, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, released a book titled Prosthetic Rehabilitation of Head and Neck Cancer Patients, authored and edited by Dr Pankaj Prakash Kharade from the Department of Prosthodontics.

The University Games Committee at Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Athletics Association organised a state seminar on “doping and technical conduct in modern athletics”, at the Assembly Hall of AMU Boys Polytechnic, wherein experts discussed various dimensions of doping and why the use of the substance is harmful to the career of sportspersons.

Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Prof Naima Khatoon flagged off a tobacco awareness vehicle, set to cover a 10 km radius to spread the anti-tobacco message among people, during the concluding function of a week-long series of events, marking the World No-Tobacco Day, organized by the Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry at Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College.

The State of India’s Environment in Figures – an annual publication by the Centre for Science and Environment and Down To Earth magazine – is a unique collation of statistics that provides a snapshot of the state of affairs in the country using numbers. What it also provides is an agenda for development, based on hard facts and data, to the new-old government that will emerge to take hold of the country's reins,” said Sunita Narain, director general of CSE, here.
