Guwahati / New Delhi: Altruist Centre for Research and Development, a research and skill development wing of Capt. Ayush Purusartha Foundation, organized an online session on the theme, “Contemporary Trends in Peace Building and Security” as a part of the 3-day International Conference on Redefining Peace Towards a Just, Non-violent, and Sustainable Future of the World.
The conference was organized by the Asia Pacific Peace Research Association in collaboration with the University of Science and Technology of Meghalaya, and the Indian Political Science Association. The conference saw participation from scholars around the globe take part and presented their respective papers.
The special session conducted by ACRTD was chaired by Dr. Kriti Singh, Director ACRTD and the discussants were Dr. Juhi P Pathak, Deputy Director ACRTD, and Capt. Manish Singh, Deputy Director ACRTD. The speakers of the event were Cahyo Pamungkas from the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Anna Nath Ganguly, Senior Assistant Professor at Amity University, Dr. Rusha Mudgal, Assistant Professor at Amity University, Akshay Upmanyu, Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University and Ph.D. Scholar of Sharda University, Shivam Jha, Research Assistant at ACRTD, Gowri Parameswaran and Yogesh.
While speaking about the conference, Dr. Kriti Singh said that the conference brings with it an enriched discussion on crucial issues which are areas of concern in peacebuilding.
The conference was attended by delegates and participants from across India and several countries, including Germany, South Africa, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Turkey. The issues addressed by the presenters during the special session ranged from Covid 19 Pandemic and Indigenous People in Indonesia. Other topics in the discussion were the Role of News Media in Peace Building, Fake News, and the Role of Clean and Renewable Energy in Peace and Security.
