The Department of West Asian and North African Studies at Aligarh Muslim University organized an extension lecture on "The Flow and Ebb of Third Wave Democracy - Focus on Southern Africa," by Dr. Nandini Patel, an Adjunct Professor at the Malawi School of Government and the Founder & Executive Director of the Institute for Policy Interaction in Malawi of Africa, who shared insights into the intricate dynamics of democracy in Southern Africa.

In a celebration of cultural heritage and scholarly achievements, the Maulana Azad Library of Aligarh Muslim University joined hands with the ‘Ali Society’ to organize an exhibition of rare manuscripts and books commemorating the ‘Ali Day'—the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib.

The Routledge Companion to Literature and The Global South”,  has carried a chapter by Dr. AK Muneer, Assistant Professor, Department of English at Aligarh Muslim University, entitled “Amphibious Poetics on the Malabar Coast: Kappappāṭṭu and the Chronotope of the Ship in Mappila Literary Culture”.

The 14th National Voter’s Day was commemorated with fervor at Aligarh Muslim University on January 25, underscoring the significance of each vote in a democratic society. This year's celebrations adopted the theme, “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure.”
