Aligarh: Faculty members and education experts deliberated on the impact of stress and adversities on the social and psychological well-being of learners during the Covid-19 period at an international colloquium organized by the Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in virtual mode on "Socio-Psychological Issues of Learner in Covid-19 Era".

AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor was the chief patron of the event while Professor Nisar Ahmad Khan, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, AMU was the Patron.

Professor Zaidatun Tasir, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UTM and Professor Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui, Chairman, Department of Education at AMU, welcomed the speakers and participants and montages of UTM and AMU, highlighting the achievements and facilities provided by UTM and AMU were shown on this occasion.

Professor Dr Siti Aisyah Binti Panatik, FSSH, UTM, spoke on "How to build resilience during the Post-Pandemic Transition? Positive Psychology Approach". She stressed the importance of resilience and positive psychology in handling the issues and concerns of students effectively during the post-pandemic transition.

Professor Nasrin, Department of Education at AMU, presented a talk on "The Journey of Teaching- Learning During Covid-19: Issues and Challenges". She highlighted in her lecture certain crucial challenges related to infrastructure and quality teaching, along with suggestive measures to tackle them.

Dr Salmalina Binti Salleh, FSSH, UTM, focused on the alarming situation of unemployability of graduates after the Covid-19 pandemic.

AP Dr Adibah Binti Abdul Latif, FSSH, UTM, shed light on the need for flexible assessment in helping students' psychology during Covid-19.

Dr Mohammad Shaheer Siddiqui, Department of Education, AMU, presented a detailed review of research published in different journals worldwide and executive official reports released by various nations and international agencies pertaining to the impact of COVID-19 on education.

Dr Noora Abdul Kader, Department of Education, AMU, discussed various strategies for supporting students during the transition to the university during the pandemic.

Professor Dr Fatin Aliah Phang, Chairperson, School of Education, FSSH, UTM, and Professor Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui proposed a vote of thanks and Dr Hassan Abuhassna and Dr Siti Nisrin, FSSH, UTM, conducted the programme.
