Aligarh: The Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College at Aligarh Muslim University organized an awareness camp to mark World Leprosy Day, focusing on the theme, ‘Unite, Act and Eliminate’.
The Dean, the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Prof Ubaidullah Khan stressed the importance of spreading awareness among people to check the spread of leprosy and help those with compassion who are affected by this disease.
Prof Badrudduja Khan, Principal of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College focused on the social stigma attached to this disease and urged the people to be compassionate to the affected person and help them by providing them with possible medical aid.
The Chairperson of the department Prof Rubi Anjum discussed the various aspects of management of leprosy, including the causes, progression, transmission and prevention of the disease. She highlighted the preventive measures to check its communication and urged the people to immediately consult a doctor if any sign of this disease appears.
More than 250 persons got them registered for an awareness campaign, which was coordinated by Dr Ammar Ibne Anwar. Dr Mohd Mohsin, DMS, AK Tibbiya College was also present on the occasion.
