Dental Health Camp organized for marginalized community

Aligarh: The Department of Periodontia and Community Dentistry at Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, in collaboration with Wings of Desire NGO and Umang Foundation, organized a dental health camp for underprivileged girls.

The initiative aimed to provide essential dental care and raise awareness about oral hygiene among marginalized communities.

The camp was held under the guidance of Prof RK Tewari, Principal of Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College. Volunteers from the Department of Social Work played a crucial role in supporting the outreach activity.

A dedicated team of doctors, led by Chairperson Prof Neha Agrawal along with Dr Syed Amaan Ali, interns, and dental hygienists, conducted dental screenings for around 80 individuals.

Many patients were diagnosed with poor oral hygiene and common dental issues such as dental caries and periodontal diseases. To encourage better oral health practices, participants received free toothpaste and personalized oral hygiene instructions.

Patients requiring further treatment were referred to Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College for prioritized care, ensuring follow-up treatment for those in need. Prof Neha Agrawal emphasized the significance of regular dental check-ups and proper oral hygiene practices, reaffirming the department’s commitment to community outreach and healthcare accessibility.

This dental health camp is a significant step in improving oral health awareness and accessibility for marginalized communities.
