Aligarh: The Department of Psychiatry and College of Nursing at JN Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University jointly organized a programme on World Mental Health Day at the OPD Trauma Center and the Department, to raise awareness about mental health and engage the community in this endeavor.
A Skit was performed and a quiz and poster-making competition was held to spread authentic information among the audience about mental health-related issues.
Delivering the keynote address, Professor RK Gaur, Department of Psychiatry stressed on creating a supportive environment for individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
Dr. Farha Azmi, Principal, College of Nursing at AMU said that there is a lot of ignorance vis a vis mental health in the community, and observance of this day is an opportunity to spread awareness in the masses.
Dr. Reyaz, Dr. Jitendra, Dr. Faisal, Dr. Vijay Laxmi Verma, Pamela Joseph, Deepti Minj, Mahvish Masih, Rubeena Naz, and Reshma Lutfi attended the event.
