Aligarh: Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh AMU City School at Aligarh Muslim University observed the 137th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter and AMU alumnus, Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh with great zeal and fervor.
At a special assembly, the chief guest, Prof. Mohd. Shadab Khan, Assistant Director, Directorate of School Education, and the officiating Principal, Dr. Mohd. Faiyazuddin garlanded the portrait of Raja Mahendra Pratap and highlighted his contributions and services to the nation.
Prof. Khan spoke on the great ideals of Raja Mahendra Pratap and urged the teachers to inculcate these ideals into their students with a special focus on national harmony, which remained a cornerstone of Raja’s life.
Sayeed Anwer Siddiqui spoke on the illustrious life of Raja Mahendra Pratap and paid rich tributes to him for his distinctive services for India’s freedom and his generous donation of land to the Aligarh Muslim University.
Dr. Shahid Jaleel and Irshad Ahmad also expressed their views. Dr. Mohd. Faiyazuddin extended a vote of thanks while Sayeed Anwar Siddiqui conducted the programme.
An Inter-House Quiz Competition was organized to mark the occasion, which was conducted by Dr. Mohd, Rizwan Alam and Sayeed Anwar Siddiqui. The Nehru House emerged as the winner of the competition.
