Impact of AI and Generative AI on business operations discussed

Aligarh: The Department of Business Administration at Aligarh Muslim University organized an extension lecture on ‘AI, GEN-AI and Business’ by Syed Atif Umar, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at NYKAA.

Umar emphasized the impact of AI and Generative AI on business operations and discussed the distinction between human and artificial intelligence, highlighting how AI can process vast amounts of data and make millions of decisions rapidly.

Using examples from Google, Uber and Amazon, he illustrated how AI-powered platforms perform tasks on an unprecedented scale without direct human intervention. He shared insights into NYKAA's implementation of AI to enhance personalization and customer experiences, showcasing how search results and recommendations are tailored based on user history.

His lecture was followed by an interactive Question and Answer session.

The Dean, the Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Prof Ayesha Farooq expressed pride in having Umar, a distinguished alumnus back to the campus as a chief guest.

Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, the Chairperson of the department, Prof Salma Ahmed introduced Umar, highlighting his achievements and contributions.

Prof Valeed Ahmad Ansari delivered an introductory talk on the topic, discussing the evolution of Artificial Intelligence from its inception in the 1950s by pioneers like Turing and McCarthy to its current transformative role in business.

Adam, a first-year student, extended a vote of thanks.
