Aligarh: Astride a thoroughbred, eyes forward and hands-on reins; Aligarh Muslim University student, Kulsum Salahuddin made her horse perform spectacular displays of show jumping and driving to win top prizes in two different Horse Shows held at Ghaziabad on Saturday.
On the trot, she won the Gold Medal in the Uttar Pradesh Horse Show, a state-level equestrian contest, and the Silver Medal in the regional Ghaziabad Horse Show.
“Participation in these events is an opportunity to represent AMU at top levels and medal-winning performances provide a platform to qualify for bigger events. I still have much to learn and win more for the university”, said Kulsum.
Kulsum has earlier won many national and regional level equestrian events. She is the Section Commander at the AMU Horse Riding Club and a Ph.D. student at the Department of Geography.
