Aligarh: Prof S Moied Ahmed, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care of JN Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University organized and conducted a workshop on “Comprehensive Airway Management in Critically Ill Patients” at the EuroAsia Conference held at Hotel Hilton Garden Inn of Bengaluru.
The conference was a joint initiative by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
The basic and advanced airway management workshop comprised 12 didactic video-based lectures and eight hands-on training at workstations on manikins. Prof Moied delivered video-based lectures on the “Role of Ultrasonography guided DARES protocol in the assessment of difficult Airway”, “Role of video laryngoscopes in Airway Management in ICU” and “Percutaneous Tracheostomy – When Why and How”. He also discussed how to manage a case of an unanticipated difficult airway in the ICU.
Dr Moied was also felicitated for his contributions to Critical Care Medicine as an Executive member of the Indian Society of Critical Medicine.
