Sahir Ludhianvi's legacy remembered in Agra

Agra: In a heartwarming celebration of one of India's most cherished lyricists, Sahir Ludhianvi, the Amrit Vidya Education for Immortality and Chhanv Foundation hosted a musical event at Sheroes Hang Out Cafe. Harmony Group, led by Sudhir Narayan, brought Ludhianvi's timeless songs to life, marking Agra's first-ever tribute to the legendary poet.

Sudhir Narayan shared, "This is Agra's inaugural event honouring Sahir Ludhianvi. Our young singers have beautifully rendered his work, showcasing our rich cultural heritage to the newer generation."

Kritika Narayan, a young singer, eloquently introduced Ludhianvi, highlighting his romantic and deeply introspective poetry through performances of classics like "Ye Sama, Sama Hai Yeh Pyar Ka" and "Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein".

Agra Zone IG Deepak Kumar emphasized Ludhianvi's progressive impact on Indian poetry and cinema. Justice Markandey Katju recounted Ludhianvi's poignant reflection on the state of Urdu at Ghalib's centenary in Agra in 1969.

Ludhianvi's connection to Agra is immortalized in his famous poem "Taj Mahal," where he contrasts the monument's grandeur with the plight of its builders. The evening's performances included a diverse range of his songs, each resonating with deep emotion and timeless relevance.
