'Jal Samvad' to mark the World Water Day

Aligarh: The Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a four-day interactive programme, Jal Samvad, to mark World Water Day.

Prof. Faisal Kamal Zaidi, Department of Geology and Geophysics, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA delivered the keynote address.

Dr. Izhar Ahmad conducted a workshop and showcased transformations of geological heterogeneities into groundwater modeling, employing software skills. He also delivered a lecture on "Common mistakes in data handling in Hydrogeology".

An oral and poster presentation competition was also organized to create awareness about water conservation. The winners and volunteers were given the title of "Water Ambassadors" and were urged to raise awareness about water resource protection and management.

The programme was also a part of the commitment under the Scientific Social Responsibility Policy to SERB project grantees, Dr. Izhar Ahmad and Prof. Rashid Umar.
