Culinary competition to mark ‘Har Ghar Jhanda’ campaign

Aligarh: Students Zikra, Arisha and Adeena gave patriotic flavour to food and prepared delicious tricolour recipes which bagged them the first prize in the culinary competition held at the Sarojini Naidu Hall, Aligarh Muslim University to observe the nation-wide ‘Har Ghar Jhanda’ campaign and ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Saira, Sumiya and Afreen jointly stood second; while Uzma and Zainab Moin and Sara finished third in the contest. The consolation prize was shared by Yusra, Rifa, Afreen, Nazreen, Shumaila and Riya. 

“Salad dishes curated in the colours of India’s National Flag, Tri-color Paneer skewers, cakes and sweets prepared by students with patriotic spirits made the table spread of the food-themed celebration ”, said Prof Shaheen (Provost, SN Hall).

The judges, Dr Orus Ilyas and Mrs Tanveer Badar appreciated the participants for using natural colours in their dishes and gave points on presentation, nutritive value and taste.  

SN Hall Wardens, Dr Sufia Naseem, Dr Asfia Sultan, Dr Bushra Siddiqui, Dr Saba Khan, Dr Aliviea Raza and Dr Naveela Khan coordinated the event.
