Aligarh: Prof Mohammad Mobin, Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Aligarh Muslim University was conferred with the prestigious “Meritorious Award” by the National Corrosion Council of India in recognition of his research contributions and commendable performance in the field of Corrosion Science and Engineering.
The award was presented during the 20th National Conference on Corrosion Control held at Coimbatore from December 7-9.
Prof Mobin also delivered a keynote talk at the conference which is India’s largest Corrosion Science and Technology Conference organized every two years.
Before this, Prof Mobin also attended the 19th Asian Pacific Corrosion Control Conference held in Guangzhou, China from November 16-18 and delivered a talk at the conference.
An internationally acclaimed researcher in the field of Materials and Corrosion, Prof. Mobin has supervised 17 PhD, two M.Phil, and 12 M.Sc. Tech students authored 182 research papers and contributed 38 Book chapters in books from ACS, Wiley, Elsevier, Springer, RSC and De Gruyter.
Prof Mobin has also completed 39 research projects (four industrial, seven academic, and 28 root cause failure analysis/trouble shooting projects) including two projects under international collaboration and one research project is under progress.
He was awarded the NIIS Corrosion Awareness Award in the year 2007 and NIGIS Meritorious Contribution Award in 2022 for his meritorious contribution in the field of Corrosion Science and technology.
