AMU Cardiology students win prizes in Agra



Aligarh: Dr Priyanka Singh, a DM pass out from the Department of Cardiology in JN Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University, won a gold medal for her presentation at the National Conference of UP Chapter of Cardiological Society of India, held in Agra recently. She was selected for the award from amongst the best DM candidates from UP.

Abbas Asghar, a senior cath lab technician, and Avdhesh Sharma, a nursing staff, were also selected for gold medals in their respective categories, while Dr Vikas Mal and Dr Sheeraz Alam took part in the quiz and got the 3rd position.

Dr Priyanka Singh got the second position for presenting the best DM thesis and received a silver medal. Her thesis was selected from among 200 theses selected for the fray, from all over the country, after multiple evaluation sessions by experts.

Prof. Asif Hasan, Chairman, the Department of Cardiology, along with Prof. Malik Azharuddin, presented a lecture at the conference, urging the postgraduate and DM students to regularly take part in such academic and training activities to get acquainted with the recent developments in their respective areas.
