Aligarh: The Department of Cardiology in JN Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University organized a Cath Lab workshop on cases of Tachyarrythmias for radiofrequency ablation. Dr Avinash Verma from BLK Hospital of New Delhi attended the workshop as the resource person.
Addressing the participants, Dr Verma said that abnormally high heart rates can cause hypotension while syncope can put the patient in a vulnerable situation and also weakens the heart.
Prof Asif Hasan, Chairman, the Department of Cardiology informed that all the cases registered for the workshop were done successfully while about 10 cases were posted.
He said that such workshops not only benefit students academically but also provide cheap and standard treatment for poor patients with Tachyarrythmias from Aligarh district.
Prof Malik Azharuddin, Prof Shaad Aqbari, and Dr Moaaz Kidwai, along with senior residents pursuing a DM course in Cardiology, attended the workshop.
