Symposium on ‘My Health, My Right’ organized



Aligarh: The Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib in the Faculty of Unani Medicine at Aligarh Muslim University organized a symposium themed ‘My Health, My Right’, in collaboration with the Indian Integrated Community Health Association and Simnan Imperial Guild, marking World Health Day on April 7.

Chief Guest Prof M Wasim Ali, Proctor of the University, addressed pertinent health issues within the Indian context. Presiding over the function, Prof S Moudood Ashraf emphasized the genuine implementation of the right to health, even in times of adversity.

In his opening remarks, Prof Syed Mohammad Safdar Ashraf, Chairman of the department underscored the essence of health as enshrined in the 1946 World Health Organization Constitution, emphasizing the right to "the highest attainable standard of health."

Prof Badrudduja Khan, Principal, AK Tibbya College commended the department's initiatives for public health welfare.

Prof Ferasat Ali, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine stressed the importance of primordial and primary prevention in realizing the right to health. Guest of Honor, Prof MMH Siddiquee, advocated for adopting a holistic approach from the perspective of the Unani system of medicine.

The event featured a slogan-writing competition. Additionally, researchers were appreciated for outstanding oral and poster presentations during the "World Congress on Integrated Community Health."
