Several events held to mark Swachhta Pakhwada



Aligarh: Professor Mujeebur Rahman Khan, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, urged the faculty members and office staff to be careful about their health, cleanliness of their surroundings, and conservation of the environment. He was speaking at a plantation drive programme at the department of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology marking the Swachhta Pakhwada.

Professor Sadaf Zaidi, Chairman of the department, stressed the importance of planting saplings and sensitizing people towards personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness. He also administered Swachhta Pledge on this occasion.

A number of faculty members of the department including Professor Saghir Ahmad, Er Fazian Ahmad, and Dr. Nazia Tabassum participated in the drive and planted Ixora saplings in the department's premises.

Meanwhile, at the Abdullah School, several online competitions were held to attract student participation in the Swachh India campaign in a large number with an objective to sensitize them towards cleanliness and environmental conservation. The events included a poster-making competition, essay writing competition, and online talk shows.

Umra Zaheer, Superintendent of the school, conducted the Swachhta pledge and highlighted the importance of cleanliness for a healthy and prosperous life. She also led a plantation drive on the school premises.
