Aligarh: Prof Shahab Fazal from the Department of Geography at Aligarh Muslim University participated in a seminar on ‘Climate Change and Sustainable Society: With Special Reference to North-East India’ at the Nara Women’s University of Japan.
Fazal was part of an Indian delegation jointly formed and funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research and the Japan Society for Promotion of Science under a Joint Bilateral programme.
Prof Fazal also presented a keynote lecture on 'Climate Change Driven Livelihood Transformation and its Sustainability: Examples from India'.
The participating universities of this joint bilateral programme include Nara Women’s University, Japan, Gauhati University, Aligarh Muslim University, Delhi University and SNDT Universities from India.
The programme was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Nara Women’s University, Prof Masashi Takada and attended by several Japanese experts from various universities and institutions.
