Aligarh: The Centre for Distance and Online Education in Aligarh Muslim University, in partnership with the National Institute of Securities Markets, organized a two-day Financial Education Programme for young citizens.
The programme aims to equip students with essential knowledge of financial investments and the securities market.
In an inaugural address, Prof Mohd Nafees Ahmad Ansari, Director of the Centre said that in today’s fast-paced environment, financial literacy is critical for making informed saving and investment choices. Students gain insights into the dynamics of both primary and secondary markets, mutual funds, securities and investments.
The resource person, Dr Akeelurrehman from NISM stated that the practical approach not only familiarizes students with various investment options but also emphasizes key precautions and potential career paths in the financial sector. With the knowledge of smart investment strategies and financial planning, students are better prepared to manage their finances and shape a secure future, he said.
Extending a vote of thanks, Prof Jawed S Ahmed from the Department of English, said that throughout the two-day event, participants explored different topics, including the importance of investment, financial investment opportunities, requirements for securities market investment, primary and secondary market operations, mutual funds, precautionary measures, and career opportunities in the securities market.
