‘Check the expenses to make a dependable saving for future’

Aligarh: The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension at Aligarh Muslim University organized a workshop on ‘Financial education programme for adults’, in collaboration with the National Centre for Financial Education.

The resource person, Dr Aqeelur Rehman shed light on the relation between income and expenses, adding that the sources of income include jobs, businesses, farming and pensions, and a passive income, interest that accrues on the savings. However, one needs to keep track of these incomes and check the expenses to make a dependable saving for the future.

Earlier, welcoming the guest speaker, the Director of the centre, Dr Shamim Akhtar said that like educational literacy, financial literacy is also important and merely managing income has no relevance if one is unable to manage his or her expenses. He highlighted the significance of budgeting and setting priorities to increase savings.

About 50 learners and other stakeholders participated in the programme.
