Campaign 'Mera Pehla Vote-Desh Ke Liye' endorsed

Aligarh: The Department of Economics at Aligarh Muslim University, recently hosted slogan writing and painting competitions, centered on the theme of 'Mera Pehla Vote-Desh Ke Liye'.

The Slogan Writing Competition witnessed active participation, with Mohammad Zeeshan Thoker (BA II Sem) and Illyas T (BA IV Sem) securing the first and second prizes, respectively. Neha Qadeer (MA II Sem) was awarded the third prize for her compelling slogan.

In the Painting Competition, Abdullah Ayaz (BA VI Sem) claimed the first prize, while Alquama Ansari (MA IV Sem) and Saleek Rahiman MC (MA IV Sem) earned the second and third prizes, respectively, for their artistic expressions.

Professor Shehroz Alam Rizvi, Chairman of the Department, commended the government's initiative and highlighted the campaign's potential to motivate first-time voters, emphasizing its importance in promoting youth engagement in electoral activities.

Dr Shirin Rais, serving as Co-Convener and Rapporteur of the programs, significantly contributed to the event's success.

Furthermore, the Department of Anatomy, JN Medical College also organized various activities as part of the campaign from February 28 to March 14. Led by Prof Fazal ur Rehman, Chairman of the Department, and coordinated by Dr Nema Usman, the program aimed to instil a sense of democratic responsibility among first-time voters.

Activities included a Voters Pledge on March 7 with 150 participants, a Poster and Slogan Drawing on March 13, involving 10 individuals, and a lively Nukkad Natak and Poetry session by MBBS First Professional students, accompanied by an address by Prof Fazal ur Rehman, emphasizing the importance of voting.
