Cricket match organized to mark Sir Syed Day celebrations



Aligarh: The Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School emerged as the winner of the friendly cricket match played with the Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged of the university as part of the Sir Syed Day celebrations.

The Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged, which organized the match, was declared runner-up. Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, the chief guest Prof Brij Bhushan Singh, former Chairman of the Department of Physical Education, emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and physical activity for overall development.

The Principal of the school Dr Naila Rashid urged the students to regularly participate in sports activities whether they win or lose the match, as it is essential for good personality development and promotion of teamwork spirit, discipline and camaraderie.

Qari Mohammad Anwar and Avshek, a Class IX student, did the commentary. Sana Raza and MP Singh performed as the main umpires, as well as Sirajuddin Sheikh acted as the third umpire. The Vice Principal Ahtasham Akbar managed the scoring.
