Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Vice-Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon has expressed a deep sense of shock and grief at the demise of the former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
“The passing away of Dr Singh is a great loss to the nation. He was an architect of economic reforms in the country. Dr Singh, a statesman and a much-revered figure in Indian politics, epitomised dignity and simplicity. His services will always be remembered. I offer my deepest condolences to his family members”, Prof Khatoon remarked.
Notably, Dr Manmohan Singh attended the convocation of Aligarh Muslim University as a chief guest on March 27, 2003. He addressed the gathering as an educator discussing the economic and educational affairs of the country and world and motivated the students to strive for excellence in their fields of study.
