Aligarh: Dr Kulsum Alam, an MD student in the Department of Anaesthesiology of JN Medical College at Aligarh Muslim University presented a research paper, titled ‘Accuracy and validity of different Transoesophageal Echocardiography views in the measurement of RVOT gradient in tetralogy of Fallot repair patients’ at the 18th World Congress of Anaesthesiologists in Singapore.
She secured the third prize under the best paper presentation category. Dr. Kulsum's paper, selected for presentation at the WCA, provides invaluable insights into the measurement of RVOT gradient in tetralogy of Fallot repair patients, offering significant implications for surgical decision-making and patient outcomes.
Her Supervisor, Dr Manazir Athar, and Co-supervisors Prof. Azam Haseen, Chairperson, the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Prof Shaad Abaqari, Dept of Pediatrics congratulated her on the achievement.
Prof Hammad Usmani, Chairman, the Department of Anaesthesiology lauded Dr Kulsum for her dedication and hard work and said her achievement is a source of motivation for other students.
