Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Girls' School hosted a lecture on breast cancer delivered by Dr Mohsin Raza, Secretary of the Society for Breast Cancer Awareness. Dr Dilshad Shamsi and Dr Farzana Hadi, experts in this field, also addressed the girl attendees.
Dr Mohsin Raza stressed the importance of early detection of breast cancer to enhance survival rates. He provided insights into common symptoms, screening methods and the critical role of regular self-examinations and mammograms.
Dr Dilshad Shamsi, an Emergency Physician from Oman, outlined various treatment modalities, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapies.
Dr Farzana Hadi, a Gynecologist, discussed the importance of personalized treatment plans based on individual patient profiles.
The Vice Principal of the school, Alka Agarwal said that the session aimed at raising awareness and deepening understanding of breast cancer, focusing on early detection, treatment options, latest research advancements, new drugs, genetic testing, and innovative therapies.
The event concluded with a Q&A session. Sakina Ruman Rizwi and Najam U Sahar expressed gratitude to the speakers.
